“’Lying Behind the Glass’ é o nome da exposição coletiva que teve a Casa Esperança em Braga como palco, tendo sido delineada especificamente para este edifício emblemático da cidade, num diálogo que se estabelecia entre o legado patrimonial e a apropriação e reinterpretação do mesmo por parte de um coletivo de artistas de relevo da arte contemporânea portuguesa, tendo como pano de fundo a Noite Branca – Braga, evento de celebração e exaltação de múltiplas manifestações artísticas e culturais.”

“A organização da Noite Branca – Braga, em parceria com a Galeria Showme DesignandArte, apresentou a exposição coletiva que contou com os artistas: Isaque Pinheiro, Carlos Mensil, Filipe Marques, Filipe Cortez, João Pedro Trindade, Ines Norton, Hugo Castro e Marco Moreira, num convite que se estendeu a toda a comunidade que visitou a cidade nesse grande acontecimento anual, exortando à fruição e participação de todos.”

“O desenho divide-se em duas tendências, a filosófica e primordial em que cada traço é uma marca abstrata (Dexter, E. 2005)  que nos conecta com os nossos ancestrais, com o passado da humanidade, desde os desenhos gravados na pedra do Neolítico, o traçado das estradas romanas, o desenho dos mapas renascentistas, ao desenho das linhas de comboio, das linhas telefónicas, dos cabos de alta tensão a percorrerem a paisagem, aos traços-rastos dos aviões no céu, todos nos sugerem uma forma de desenho. E uma outra  que compreende o desenho como uma das áreas da experiência humana e associa-o à noção de intimidade, informalidade, autenticidade, imediatismo, subjetividade, história, memória, narrativa.

É da fusão entre as duas tendências e do entender o desenho como um percurso pessoal e ao mesmo tempo impessoal que nasce esta exposição de quatro artistas com abordagens do desenho muito diferentes uma vez que “desenhar é ser humano” e porque acreditamos na subjetividade do olhar e da vida.”
